NSW Unfair Dismissals Law
There are a number of legislative provisions that operate to make unfair dismissals unlawful. This legislation exists to protect employees from being unfairly dismissed and from being threatened with an unfair dismissal. Unfair dismissal laws are contained in the Industrial Relations Act 1996 and allow an employee who believes that he or she has been dismissed unfairly to apply to the NSW Industrial Relations Commission.
