Racial and Religious Tolerance Bill introduced in Victoria
On 16 May 2001 the Racial and Religious Tolerance Bill 2001 was introduced into the Victorian Parliament. The bill effectively outlaws racial and religious vilification and provides for a separate process whereby offences will be heard before the Victorian Civil and Administrative Tribunal (VCAT) along with other anti-discrimination offences.
